Prepare to encounter a standout amongst the most madly stacked reggae, dub, and dancehall lineups of 2019! Back for its third year, One Love Cali Reggae Fest comes back to the wonderful Queen Mary from February 8-10. With a waterfront view of Long Beach from the mainstage just as the Queen Mary ship for those epic ocean background pictures opportunities, One Love Cali is an event you can’t pass up!
At the festival there will be merch and food vendors, so try to check them out on breaks in between sets. Talking about One Love Cali sets… Journey with me us as we feature a few artist worth looking at that will play this weekend.
Mike Love
Brought up on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Mike Love is at the cutting edge of breaking musical boundaries! Mike Love combines his spirituality and message-based reggae and Rastafari music with progressive and classic rock sounds. That, as well as breaker music with pop, R&B, soul, blues, jazz and others. As Mike Love would proclaim himself, peace is at the center of his music.
Rebelution
This California reggae band from Santa Barbara needs no introduction. Rebelution keeps on being a visiting juggernaut with sold-out shows at any setting they get the opportunity to play. Their first-ever Grammy nomination was in the class of Best Reggae Album for Falling into Place. Not halting there, Rebelution caught up with Free Reign, which, similar to their past five studio albums, did not disappoint!
Soja
Soja shaped in a D.C. area; and regardless of their prosperity, they generally like to recollect where they began. They never want to lose the genuine enchantment of working together with their 8 piece band members. With the majority of this, Soja was able to make a devoted fan base of more than 7 million online followers and 300 million YouTube views. After two Grammy nominations, Soja keeps on pioneering trails with its music and one of a kind sound. A genuine case of this can be seen on their latest album Poetry in Motion.
Iration
Finally, Iration is an alternative/reggae group from Isla Vista, CA. They are “all about luv” with their profoundly established reggae impact and components of rock and pop music. A large portion of the band members met while growing up in Hawaii yet reconnected in Santa Barbara in 2004. At the point when Micah Brown joined the group, the band shaped and took off into musical stardom.
Should One Love Cali Reggae Fest come to a close and you’re still tingling for more, don’t stress as there will be after parties occurring on a boat on Saturday and Sunday evening! Saturday night’s after party will feature none of that Collie Buddz and Sunday night will highlight Fiji. With both of these after party events, you’ll have to buy separate afterparty tickets that are excluded with standard One Love Cali Reggae festival passes. So don’t wait and make a beeline for the One Love Cali Reggae Fest website to get your tickets and join in on the fun!
There are different festival pass options available for purchase including single day, 2-day, and 3-day GA and VIP choices, after party tickets, in addition to VIP cabanas and table choices for those hoping to escape the crowd and enjoy the festival from a private viewing area. Unfortunately, there will be no on-site parking at the Queen Mary as all parking will be off-site with a free shuttle overhauling the festival goers so do plan accordingly!
