2021 has been shaky for quite a few festivals already, but somehow Dirtybird has persevered. With not just one festival to plan in this year of unknowns, Dirtybird has two. In May, the record label successfully pulled off Dirtybird CampINN in Orlando, Florida – an all-inclusive festival at a resort. The stage was around the pool, people stayed in the rooms in the resort, and all food had to be brought in or bought on site. Their slogan was “once you’re INN, you’re INN” meaning that once you had passed the COVID screening process, you weren’t allowed to leave the festival site at all. This allowed for the festival to go on smoothly during a rough month for many states. The festival was an overall success, especially given that it was the first time ever doing the CampINN in Florida.
Now we’re only a few weeks away from the second Dirtybird festival of the year – Dirtybird Campout West Coast. This California staple has been going on for years and will be held at the Modesto Reservoir, on the outskirts of Sacramento. This 3 day camping festival combines the elements of music festival shenanigans with adult summer camp debauchery. On top of two stages of music, there are also roving art carts, after hours RV renegade sets in the campgrounds, archery classes, potato sack races, dodgeball, kickball, blow up floatie races in the lake, and just about every other summer camp activity and game you could think of.
To ensure the safety of Dirtybird artists, staff and attendees, the festival will be enforcing new protocols by requiring a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72-hours prior to entering the event, or proof of Vaccination to attend Dirtybird Campout 2021.
Attendees will be able to use the CAL app if they have a vaccination card and are from the state of California. If they are not from CA, they can bring the physical card to show for entry. The name on the CAL QR Code MUST match the name on ID. Digital photos of vaccination cards will not be accepted. If attendees do not have access to their hard copy, a PCR Rapid test is required. There will be no refunds if attendees don’t have their test results or vaccine cards ready at the time of entry.
If anyone tests positive, they will get a refund, but they must show original links and documents as proof of testing positive.
The excitement continues to mount as the weeks get closer and the full lineup has been announced. But pack your best Gator Boy outfits, rent an RV, buy a pool floatie, take a COVID test, and wrangle up a crew for this year’s Dirtybird Campout West.
This year’s lineup includes most of the Dirtybird players like Ardalan, Justin Jay, Lubelski, Nala, Sacha Robotti, Steve Darko, VNSSA, Walker & Royce, Wyatt Marshall and of course Claude VonStroke himself. We will also get another Claude set in the form of his real name and second DJ alias – Barclay Crenshaw. Some other house artists on the lineup include Boys Noize (what?!!), Codes, Damian Lazarus, E.R.N.E.S.T.O, and Gene Garris. And in true Dirtybird Campout fashion, theres always a smattering of bass and dnb artists in the mix as well like Ivy Lab, Medasin, Planet of the Drums, and Yheti. Check out the full lineup below.
Tickets are still on sale on the Dirtybird website.
See you guys there on October 15-17!
