A few short weeks ago, we had the pleasure of covering the first wave of artists for the DoLab festival. On the initial lineup was a slew of some of the best talent in dance music today featuring acts such as Justin Martin, DROELOE, Kaytranada, and GRiZ. Believe it or not, that’s just the tip of the ice berg. Last week, they dropped their full lineup with acts for each of the stages. From the Lightning stage, all the way to The Stacks, everything about this lineup is indeed, well….. STACKED!
The Stacks
The newest addition of all the LiB stages, which replaced The Pagoda last year. The Stacks will without a doubt be going off all weekend riddled with a diverse range of bass music. If you even remotely follow underground bass music, I’m sure some names already stick out at you as they did me. The SFAM boys, TieDye Ky, Freddy Todd, & Mystic Grizzly may be some of the more commonly known amongst leaders of the underground bass scene at the moment. Hailing from the Florida bass scene, Hallucinate is a definite “must catch” set for the entire festival. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
The Compass
Next up, The Compass stage. This is where deep house meets R&B, meets jam bands, meets hip-hop meets…. well, you get the point. There are no genre barriers here. I personally feel like the name “The Compass is very fitting given that the genre blending stage can point you in any direction really. Don’t stress if you aren’t able to catch The Librarian‘s set at the Thunder Stage, because somehow we’re lucky enough that LiB is blessing us with a second set at The Compass!
Grand Artique
The Grand Artique will definitely be an experience like no other and surely one to remember. Immerse yourself in the western civilization-like culture the Frontierville has to offer. Fully equipped with a Trading Post General Store, a school, and even a hotel, The Grand Artique is known as one of the most creative installations to experience at a festival. Dive deep into the bass lines and melodies of bluegrass, folk, and a blend of electronic bass.
CTRL – Z
Formerly known as “The Favelas”, if you stumble into CTRL – Z, just know that the party doesn’t stop. With the throbbing bass lines from techno and house, the high tempo energy at CTRL – Z will be a force to reckon with all weekend. Make sure you stretch, lace up your dancing shoes, and grab EVERYTHING you will possibly need from your campsite when planning to check out CTRL – Z. I assure you, once you step foot into CTRL – Z, you won’t be leaving until the crack of dawn! House and techno fans far and wide are in for a treat with sounds from many house & techno artists especially from the LA area such as Aaron Jacobs, Saand, and Roxy Venus.
No matter where you end up finding your sanctuary on Memorial Day weekend whether it be at CTRL – Z , The Grand Artique, The Compass, or at The Stacks, there’s something all over Buena Vista Lake that’ll immerse any soul into the culture and experience that DoLab creates for another yet thrilling and exciting edition of Lightning In A Bottle.
To keep up with all things LiB, give them a thumbs up on Facebook, follow their Twitter, and Instagram. Also, be sure to grab your tickets before the next price increase this Friday the 28th. Purchase your tickets and lock in your Memorial Day weekend plans here.
