Have you heard of Deep Tropics yet? Well you should have! This ultra-green Nashville, Tennessee festival is starting to become a Southeast staple. It may be on the smaller side of festivals but it sure does deliver. This year’s lineup had our mouths watering and will excite bass and house head alike. With house headliners such as Chris Lake, Le Youth, Marsh, Amtrac, Ben Böhmer, Tchami, Vintage Culture, Wax Motif, Emancipator and Snakehips, you do not want to miss out on this year’s iteration. If you didn’t think those house artists were tempting, maybe A Hundred Drums, Ivy Lab, LSDream, Of The Trees, Ravenscoon, Sumthin Sumthin, or Tsuruda might suck you in with their experimental beats. The festival will take place in Nashville’s Bicentennial Park on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 27th. The venue will host three stages – the Meru Ampitheater, a small grass ampitheater with concentric rings for house lovers to dance on, the Lotus Stage, for all the bass fiends, and the Congo Stage, for your fill of local Nashville and Southeast acts.
The festival will take place from 3 PM to 11 PM both days. If those hours don’t leave you with enough music, Deep Tropics also has two after parties each night so the party doesn’t stop. Friday night will see Ben Böhmer at Nightscape and Tripp St. at Eastside Bowl while Saturday will have Rusko at Skydeck and Wax Motif at the Brooklyn Bowl. There is also a pre-party with Sidepiece on Thursday evening at Skydeck so people can get the party started even earlier.
