While rumors were circling last year that Kanye was set to play at Coachella in 2019, today they released the line up confirming he would not play this year. Apparently he pulled out about artistic differences over the stage set up. The Festive Owl released this earlier today:
But no worries since the festival found Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Arianna Grande to headline the event. Friday and Sunday’s headliners were no surprise. Fans had already matched gaps in their tours with the Coachella dates. Even though Donald Glover said a year ago that he was going to be retiring the Childish Gambino moniker it looks like he is heading into 2019 still performing under the name. It could be since an injury caused him to cancel a lot of dates last year. Tame Impala, along with others like Bassnectar and Gesaffelstein are an unexpected but welcome curve ball. In addition, the amount of techno and R&B/Hip create a pretty well rounded line up. Not to mention the surprises that are sure to occur both weekends.
